The first Algerian humanitarian aid provided by the Guidance and Reform Association (“Al Irshad wa Islah Association”) arrived inside Syria, on Thursday, and represented a fresh relief operation aimed at digging water wells and caring for orphans, in addition to supplying foodstuffs and medical aid in the strife-torn Arab country.

This three-pronged relief operation will also be destined to the Sahrawi refugee camps, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and also to occupied Al Qods or Jerusalem.

A spokesman for the Association, Mohamed Kadi, said in a statement to “Echorouk” that the solidarity move came as a result of the dramatic humanitarian situation now prevailing in war-torn Syria.

He added that the ongoing relief operation would reach the depth of Syria as far as the refugee camps located on the Turkish-Syrian border like the desolate refugee camp of Rihaniya which shelters countless distressed people who grievously fled, against their will, their homes in conflict-ravaged areas of the country.

The spokesman stressed that the well-meaning activities of the Association are under control, especially in the financial aspect on the part of the authorities concerned, and will coordinate  its humanitarian action with the Turkish relief organization “A HaHa” which is present in 80 countries, and in three continents, including Africa, Asia and Latin America.
