Algerian ID-forger linked to Brussels’ terrorist attacks rounded up in Italy
Italian media outlets have announced that Italian police arrested a young Algerian suspected of being a member of a criminal ring that produced false documents to the organizers of the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels.
According to the Italian news agency, the arrest was carried out by a special unit of the Italian police specialized in fight against terrorism and organized crime in accordance with a mandate provided by the relevant Belgian authorities.
The arrested young man, responding to the initial “Djamel Eddine Ouali” aged 40, was arrested under a European arrest warrant in the Salerno region, located in the south of Italy.
According to the same source, the suspect was rounded up precisely in the city of Bellizzi, as part of a joint operation between local anti-terrorist forces and those in charge of special operations police in Rome.
The latter is suspected of being part of a criminal network that produced false documents to illegal immigration. He should be extradited to Belgium in the coming days.
