Algerians Oppose To The Arab Spring
Over 60% of Algerians express their absolute rejection of the so-called Arab Spring, and they consider it very negative, while Moroccans ,Tunisians, Egyptians and Iraqis think it is “positive”.
Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies released in Qatar’s Doha, on Monday, the results of the Arab Index survey for 2016, which included 12 countries in the region, namely Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The report covered the orientations of the Arab citizens about a range of economic, social, and political issues, including trends in public opinion about issues of democracy, political and civic participation.
It includes trends in public opinion toward the terrorist organization ISIS, and assessing the international and regional powers’ policies towards the crisis in the Arab region.
Majority of Algerians responded negatively on the question about the so-called Arab revolutions, as 47% of them think that they are “very negative”, 14% of them say they are “negative”, and 4% refused to answer or said they did not know.
Results show that the Algerians are different in their view of the “Arab Spring”, compared to the neighboring countries, as 71% of Tunisians said it is “positive”, and 51% of Moroccans said the same thing, and the same position was taken by the Egyptians and the Palestinians as well.
