Azawad Official to Echorouk: “We agree with Ansareddine Movement on application of Islamic Sharia”

A meeting between Azawad and Ansareddine movement was held on Friday to agree on a project of merging the movement within the Azawad state that was recently announced,Head of the Political Bureau of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad, Mahmoud Ag Ali said, in a phone conversation with Echorouk.

The spokesman assered that the meeting was attended by Chairman of Ansareddine Movement, Iyad Ag Ghali, some of the leaders of his movement, the head of the Political Bureau of the Azawad Movement,the officer and member of the military leadership and a number of Azawad scholars.

“The meeting noticed sessions of discussion between the two parties, in order to find a solution that could satisfy both parties. The meetings focused on three main items, and it comes to an agreement to integrate Ansareddine movement within the state of Azawad, and accept the application of a moderate Islamic Sharia in the State of Azawad, as well as another “very important” item, which is the removal of all armed movements from the Azawad State. This agreement is only on principle, and will be followed by other agreements and subsequent discussions on these and other items, so as to solve all the problems of the region”, he explained.

“There is no a relationship linking the Jihad and Tawhid Movement with Ansareddine movement, as the first preceded the second in appearance, and it is a movement implicated in the criminality and is totally isolated in current time. The national Movement of Azawad called on its members to integrate into the Azawad community and stay away from such criminal movements”. ‬
