Bernard Emié Is Appointed Director of France's External Security
France’s ambassador to Algeria, Bernard Emié, was appointed head of the General Directorate of France External Security, which is one of the wings of the intelligence service in charged with fighting espionage, French media, including Libération newspaper said, on Wednesday.
“Bernard Emié, who was born in 1958, served as France’s ambassador to Algeria since 2014, and will receive his new post at the beginning of next July”.
Bernard Emié will replace the former French ambassador to Algeria, Bernard Bajolet, at the leadership of the French intelligence service.
On the other hand, the police chief, Laurent Nunez, who was born in 1962, was appointed head of the General Directorate of Internal Security of the second wing of the French intelligence, while Pierre Bousquet was appointed director of the French National Center for Counter terrorism.
