British court to look into Algerian businessman Khalifa's case
The British Judge, Timothy Warkman, the day before yesterday announced the dates of May 29 and 30 to consider the Algerian demand of the extradition of Abdelmoumen Khalifa, sentenced for life in absentia in the Khalifa case.
The next court hearings will look at whether the accusations from the Algerian authorities tally with the British judicial regulations in this case.
Abdelmoumen Khalifa was charged of forgery, corruption, and corrupt practices.
The British judge rejected the “billionaire”’s request to be released on parole following his incarceration for more than a year, but asked him whether he was willing to attend the hearing of May 29th.
Abdelmoumen Khalifa was put in jail following a European warrant of arrest on charges of “money laundry” and “feign bankruptcy”.
