Although the killing took place only two hours later, the accused remained maneuvering and demanding a ransom of 1 billion centimes and sent telephone messages to conclude the deal.

On the evening he returned boldly to his father’s house where he met with his brothers and cousins who accused him of the kid’s disappearance, but he denied everything, and found no evidence that implicated him in the process, despite being assaulted by the kid’s father, but he did not recognize anything, then they decided to free him, but once he was left free he continued sending messages to ask for the ransom. He then traveled to Setif, then went to Annaba (estern Algeria), then entered the Tunisian territory and then fled to France, which he entered by virtue of his French nationality.

Photographs that were presented by the Public Prosecutor show the phone calls of the accused, who used 4 phone slides, and in each time he changed a SIM Cards with the use of one mobile phone, but the mistake that exposed the accused is sending a message to his wife and a friend using the same SIM Card which he used to send messages to ask for ransom.

Investigation also monitored the suspect’s movements carefully by tracing his mobile phone until he left for Tunisia. It turned out by talking to a friend that he was waiting to receive 1 billion centimes, to settle many things. These facts were confirmed by the lawyer of the victim, Mr. Serge Basta, who presented, in one hour of time, the evidence that condemn the defendant focusing on the phone calls and the defendant’s need for money.

The lawyer expressed surprise at the actions of the accused who committed the murder of an innocent child in a cruel way and threw his body without mercy, for money.

During the session the chairman of the Association for the Defense of Childhood, which is a French association founded as a civil party alongside with Amer family, where she strongly condemned this criminal act.

The lawyer of the accused, Debo Moretti, tried to charge his client with doubting the expertise of telephone calls and emphasizing that the accused did not need money because he was from a wealthy family.

Before the adjournment of the hearing, the defendant was given the final word, who insisted on denying all the charges and demanded the acquittal, but after a deliberation that lasted for 4 hours and continued until 8:00 pm, the judge pronounced 30 years in prison for kidnapping and murder.
