Costly medical equipment stolen in Algiers hospital
A batch of medical equipment , worth 400 million centimes, was stolen earlier this month from a hospital in Algiers, Echorouk has learnt.

Two machines of sonography out of three were stolen. The hospital was provided with them when Algerian health minister Said Barkat inaugurated the x-ray department, nearly six months ago.

The theft took place although tens of agents are supposed to guard the hospital and more than 15 cameras are set up to keep watch on the various departments of it.

According to a source at the hospital, investigators found out that three consecutive days are missing in the main unity of cameras.

The police summoned all workers at the x-ray department but the main suspect’s identity has not been discovered.

This problem caused pressure on the department where some equipments are broken down such as the scanner. Other new devices have never been used including a TOCHIBA machine.

The hospital witnessed similar cases at the central pharmacy storehouse. Two guards were accused but they were acquitted, two months ago.
