Details Of Arresting The Mastermind Of Algiers Government Palace Terror Attack

Under the strict security control along the road that leads to Algiers Dar Bida criminal court, from the penal institution in Harrache, on Sunday, the terrorist Kassimi Salah nicknamed “Salah Abu Mohamed”, who is one of the most dangerous elements of what was known as al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and who is also the second man in the organization in charge of media formerly, and who is known to be the mastermind of suicide attacks and mastermind of Algiers blasts.

The court, decided on Sunday morning, to postpone the case of the terrorist “Salah Abu Mohamed” because of the absence of his defense lawyers to attend his trial for the second time, with the review of file on January 17,2019, as he will be trialed for charges that are related to the organization of a terrorist group and joining armed gangs to disturb the security of the state.

According to the judicial file, the security services managed to arrest the dangerous terrorist after receiving certain information regarding his activities and movements within the criminal organization and succeeded in arresting him after a long surveillance period that ended on December 16, 2012 near a restaurant at the level of Al-Chorfa village, in Bouira, eastern Algeria, after he was ambushed and was in the process of meeting with terrorist elements who are affiliated with him.

Judicial investigations continued in his file, to show his involvement in the bombings of the Government Palace and the Urban Security Center of Bab Zouar, which shook the capital in 2007, and that he was the mastermind of the attack, and for four years of investigation the case was referred to the Criminal Court in 2015.

In protest, he then appealed his lawyer to challenge the decision of the indictment chamber before the Supreme Court, which prevented him from being tried and then the case was re-programmed during the current criminal session.
