Djamel Mesbah: “Riyad Mahrez Fits AS Roma And Is Better Than Salah”

Algerian international Djamel Mesbah has been advised by the Italian club of AS Roma to attract to Italy his compatriot Riyad Mahrez, the star of Leicester City’s offensive line.

Djamel Mesbah said: “AS Roma’s new coach Osipio de Francesco is inclined to apply tactical plans 4-3-3, and Riyad Mahrez is in perfect harmony with this kind of tactical schemes”.

Djamel Mesbah, 32, has played in Italy for AC Milan, Sampdoria of Genoa, Parma, Livorno, Lecce and Crotone, which means he knows well the football which is practiced in this European country.

“Mahrez is better than Egyptian Mohamed Salah (a former AS Roma player), and this is not chauvinism,” he said in his latest statement to the Italian radio station Tele Stereo Radio. “Claudio Ranieri (his former coach at Leicester City) has been tactically keen and tactful”.

 Crotone was Italy’s last club like Lampa for Mesbah , before moving to Swiss side Lausanne in the last few days.

“The Algerian national team has made excellent performances in the last few years and has excellent players who are active in European championships, including the winners of the European Championships”, he added.

The Management of the Italian club of AS Roma have recently expressed their desire to sign the talented Algerian player Riyad Mahrez this summer, but their financial offer did not convince the Management of England’s Leicester City , but the door is still open for negotiations for a possible deal until further notice.
