The Federal Bureau of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), meeting on Wednesday in Algiers, has established two criteria from which it will proceed to the summoning of footballers playing abroad in one of the national football line-ups.

“Two criteria will be taken into consideration to convene a player playing abroad, his unconditional commitment to Algeria and his technical superiority over the players in Algeria itself,” said the FAF on its official account on Twitter.

The decision of the federal authorities comes at a time when the FAF is eyeing the Franco-Algerian striker of Olympique Lyon (Ligue 1 / France) namely Houssem Aouar, whose call-up to the Greens’ squad has not yet been carried out.

“I have not yet asked myself the question of choosing my national line-up, I have just joined Lyon’s  professional group and my immediate objective is to impose myself in my team”, said Hossem Aouar (19 years’ old) in one of his latest statements to the media.

Hossem Aouar has been asserting himself at Olympique Lyon  since the beginning of the season to the point of becoming an essential piece in the tactical scheme of team coach Bruno Genesio. He scored a goal and made a decisive assist in 8 League one games .

New national team coach Rabah Madjer was however very evasive about him.

“For Hossem Aouar and other cases like him, we must first find out if these players heartily agree to play in the Algeria team. We will wait for the right time to call up new professional players so as to bolster the national  football squad” said the national coach who is expected to tour Europe in the coming weeks, so as to oversee young footballers of Algerian origin now playing in European championships.
