Ferhat Mehenni Lectures Against National Unity At Tizi Ouzou University

Mouloud Maamri University in Tizi Ouzou (eastern Algeria) hosted on Sunday the separatist Ferhat Mehenni amid anger among the citizens who expressed their anger on social networks and demanded punishment of those responsible of organizing this event.

On Sunday, the University of Tizi Ouzou hosted Ferhat Mehenni, leader of the so-called the Movement for the Kabylian Autonomy (MAK), through a distance-learning lecture that was attended by a large number of students and professors.

During this lecture, he called for the end of what he called “the Algerian occupation of the Kabylian area”, in a great challenge to the authorities and national unity.

The incident was preceded by an unprecedented wave of denunciation on social networks, amid demands to punish Tizi Ouzu University’s dean and the governor due to what they described as the dangerous deviation that threatened the Algerian national unity.
