Freezing of Algiers-Tripoli air-link will curtail Moroccan terrorists’ reinforcements for “Daech”

The communication advisor to the Libyan unity government, Fethi Benaissa, said he approved of the Algerian decision to freeze the air-link between Algiers and Tripoli as a preventive measure designed to ensure his country’s security in the face of the recent influx of Moroccans leaving for Libya via Algiers.

As a matter of fact, the freezing of these flights between Algiers and Tripoli wouldn’t undermine the fraternal relations between the two peoples, but such a measure has become imperious owing to the current sensitive security environment that requires the utmost vigilance on the part of Algeria, and necessitates the strengthening of security cooperation among all the countries of the sub-region.

The Libyan official asserted in a statement to ”Echorouk”, that the Moroccan terrorist apprentices, having a limited education, are intent on beefing up the ranks of the “Daech” terror group already present in Libya with the aim of dealing a blow to the security and stability of neighbouring Algeria and to that of Tunisia as well.

As a recall, this is the massive and unusual flow of Moroccans from Casablanca to Libya through Algeria, noted in recent weeks that motivated the freezing by the Algerian civil aviation of the Algiers-Tripoli air link starting from last Friday.

Furthermore, information in the possession of the Algerian security services about the existence of a covert network whereby Moroccans transit via Algeria to join the ranks of “Daech” terror group in Libya in order to strengthen the terrorists’ nefarious capabilities there, prompted earlier this week the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco posted in Algiers for clarifications about this burning issue.
