French court allows burkini and ends the “scandal”
As the burkini issue has become a scandal in France, its State Council Friday suspended its ban in 30 municipalities.
The municipalities will have to ban their previous orders and allow this dress in its beaches. This will raise satisfaction among Muslims living in France.
Cannes is the first French municipality which banned all the swimming dresses which have religious symbols including the burkini. It says it took this decision for “security reasons to fight terrorism.” The ban would have continue during August.
It also imposed a $42 fine on those who do not respect the law.
This law triggered anger among Muslims living in France and even French people. Yet, local authorities turned a deaf ear to them. Other municipalities started applying the law until the number reached 30.
