The intelligence expert at the French Intelligence Research Center Eric Denécé has lauded in an interview made to Echourouk the Algerian standpoint over the French military intervention in Mali, especially after allowing the French warplanes to fly over its territories

He has ruled out the possibility that the French authorities would yield to the pressures of terrorists that take hostage French nationals in order to strop their operations in the West African country.

Denécé has indicated that the fall of victims is something sad but there isn’t such a military operation without deaths, noting that the Algerian people have suffered this tragedy during the 1990s in their fight against terrorism.

The expert has indicated that according to the collected data, the French military forces have reached satisfactory results in Mali as they eliminated a huge number of armed terrorists and destructed several training camps out there.

But he declined fixing a deadline for the military operation in Mali on account of the lack of accurate data over the situation in this country, in reference to the organisation of the terrorist groups and their whereabouts.

The expert has indicated that the duration of the operation is linked to the number of terrorists in Mali, noting that the larger is the region controlled by the terrorists, the longer the military operation will be.

He has also noted that the success of the military operation depends on the commitment of the international community to support the Malian authorities in their fight against the terrorist groups.

He concluded his interview saying that the French authorities are doing their utmost to spare the lives of the innocent civilians including the French nationals held hostages by the terrorist groups.
