French Interior Minister Blackmails Countries Rejecting Their Immigrants
The new French Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, who belongs to the right-wing “Republicans” party, said that he will resort to using the visa as a weapon to force countries that refuse to receive their citizens in order to force them to issue permits to deport illegal immigrants who have been issued expulsion orders from French territory.
In an interview with the French channel “LCI” on the night of Sunday to Monday, he said: “We must continue to limit visas if a country refuses to receive people convicted in France.”
The visa was strongly present in Rotayo’s speech as a tool to pressure countries that refuse to receive their citizens, but it is not the only mechanism he resorts to when necessary, as he said, including development aid, but he added a new element that he considered an act, which is related to the high customs duties that will be imposed on goods coming from those countries.
He said literally: “If a country refuses, we should not hesitate to increase customs duties on products arriving in France, and this affects the pocket (money), often more than anything else.” This is the “new exit” of the Minister of the Interior of Paris, who did not hesitate to confirm without ambiguity that the use of the visa is shared with the far right.
Here, Minister Retailleau also pointed out that only seven to eight percent of the expulsions and deportations issued against immigrants present on French soil (in general) have been implemented, and he attributed this to the lack of seriousness of the French side and the intransigence of the countries from which these immigrants come.
In another context, the French Minister was asked about his position on the 1968 agreement with Algeria related to immigration, and he replied by saying: “I have no taboos. It is an unbalanced agreement, in favor of Algeria, but harmful to France.”
He did not hesitate to go so far as to review it or even cancel it by available legal means, although he had reservations in previous statements in this regard, considering that it exceeds the powers of the Ministry of the Interior.
The minister revealed his extremist positions that are in line with the positions of the far right when he said: “We must assume a balance of power” with Algeria, and pledged to respond to the concerns previously raised by the “National Front” party and the “National Rally” party, regarding immigration and immigrants, When the far right talks about immigrants, its arrows are usually directed at Algerians, as usual.
For the second time, the new French Minister of the Interior spoke about the 1968 agreement with Algeria. About a week ago, he confirmed in a statement to the French channel “TF1” his keenness to review this agreement, but he attributed the decision to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the guardian of this file, which confirms his hostile tendency towards everything Algerian.
