French President Sarkozy and Jews behind evangelization in Algeria, says Doctor
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been involved in evangelization in Algeria on the basis of results from institutions which have been working on fighting the phenomenon for years, according to the president of the Scientific Council on Religious Affairs.
In a seminar organized Sunday in Oran province (west of Algiers), Doctor Said Bouizri said 5 illegal churches in Algeria’s Kabylian region were closed by virtue of law on religious rites.
“Evangelization targets All Algeria and not Tizi Ouzou only.”
Doctor Bouizri, who is a teacher at Tizi Ouzou’s university, mentioned that houses, villas and even multi-services kiosks were turned into churches to practice Christian rites.
Institutions of scientific experts have been assigned to study and follow up the phenomenon in Algeria. “They have valuable and accurate information on evangelization in every church as well as interne and extern networks behind it.”
“The information shows that France is not the only country which spreads Christianity in Algeria. America, Netherlands, Belgium and even Egypt are involved,” said the doctor.
He added that evangelizers work in collaboration with Jewish groups in Algeria to push people to give up Islam.
According to him, the evangelizers seize the weakness points of Algerians including the intellectual ones. “Despair and abject poverty are the most important factors to push people to church or to illegal migration.”
He believes that the Bible is spread as gifts to migrants and through audio and videotapes.
For her part, Doctor Rabia Hezam, a lecturer at Oran’s university, said the Algerian law on religious rites is not clear as it did not determine the category of “non-Muslims.”
“The law may have ignored sanctions against Muslims who convert to other religions while it punishes every one who incites Muslims to change their religion,” she added.
