General-Secretary of the Mudjahidin Organization: France must assume all its responsibilities
General-Secretary of the Organisation of the Mudjahidine Said Abadou

The Committee which was mandated by the Organisation of the Mudjahidine to study and evaluate the law on compensation for the victims of the nuclear tests in the Algerian Sahara, which was prepared by the French government, and entered into force on last 30 June, discovered that the law was only a lie, General-Secretary of the Organisation of the Mudjahidine Said Abadou says.

  • He also told Echorouk that the detailed study carried out by the competent committee found that the law on compensation for the victims of the French nuclear tests in Algeria and Polynesia frustrated the Algerian victims who were waiting for a better compensation.
  • General-Secretary of the largest revolutionary organization in Algeria added that this law was only a French attempt “to put the wool over the eyes”, which shows lack of seriousness of Paris trying to liquidate this complicated issue, with evidence that the law did not clearly speak about the rights of the Algerian victims.
  • “There was no dialogue with Algeria when the law was drafted, that’s why it biased in favour of the French part”.
  • “The second article reflects the malice of the past colonizers, who are still possessed by the hegemonic ideology, otherwise why do they emphasis on Polynesia and not Algeria”, the spokesman said.
  • “ Compensation must exceed the natural people and assume the clearing of environment, animals and water because they were also affected by the nuclear radiation”.
