German authorities said they will deport two suspects, an Algerian 27 and a Nigerian 22, who were born in Germany from foreign parents, in an exclusive measure, after they were arrested last month on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack.

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that a pistol and an ISIS flag were found in their homes during police raids in the central city of Göttingen but were not charged, and the criminal prosecution was dropped because the police did not prove that the suspects planned to carry out an attack, describing them as dangerous.

Boris Pistorius, Interior Minister of Lower-Saxony said the deportation would take place as soon as possible, certainly before mid-April.

“Talks were already under way with Algeria and Nigeria to facilitate this measure”, noting that the two men would be subject to a “life ban to return to Germany”, which prevents their return to Germany again, and it is not clear whether the two men will appeal the decision.

Germany gives citizenship to a person who has one or both parents of German nationality, and to a person who is born in Germany.

The country has been on high alert since December 19 attack on a Christmas market in Berlin that killed 12 people and wounded dozens.
