Hamas spokesman to Echourouk : Algeria should supply Gaza with fuel to bring back life

Mouchir Al – Messri
Gaza- based Hamas government mouthpiece Mouchir Al – Messri has indicated in a telephone call with Echourouk that Ismail Henia’s declarations where he called on the Algerian authorities to keep their promises concerning fuel supply, was driven by a firm conviction that Algeria has always expressed its support to the region of Gaza.
-
The Palestinian official has noted that Algeria has promised to supply Gaza with fuel for free in 2007 with the aim to break the siege imposed on the area then, He has further added that the Algerian authorities didn’t live up to their promises because of the blockade.
-
But now the situation has changed in the wake of the Egyptian revolution; and oil can be easily funnelled thorough the Egyptian soil toward Gaza. Algeria has now an opportunity to fulfil its promises especially that Gaza is suffering a latent crisis, he said.
-
“ We are looking forward for resolving the fuel problem from Algeria, and hope for an immediate reaction from this country as it has always been the case in the past”, Al Mesri declared.
-
The current situation in Gaza is dramatic amid a Zionist embargo over the commercial routes in addition to the Egyptian crisis that added to the inhabitants’ doldrums, he said. Gaza territory needs 600 litres of fuel daily to supply the area with energy. 500 litres are used for electricity only, he added.

The former Palestinian premier Ismail Henia has called on the Arab and Muslim nations to alleviate their brothers’ sufferings in Gaza because of the outages due to the lack of fuel. Talking on the sidelines of the inauguration of “ Annasr” mosque on Thursday, he has announced that Turkey was ready to help rebuilding what has been destroyed by the Israeli assaults.
