Hezbollah and Iran had a hand in spreading Shiite trend in Algeria, classified documents reveal

Intelligence documents going back to the period of the reign of the former Libyan president Moamar Al Qadafi reveal that this latter knit close relationship with Algerians affiliated with Al Qaeda and drug traffickers belonging to the Columbian separatist FARC.

The same sources have warned against the activities of Hezbollah that aimed at spreading Shiite trend in the North African countries.

 

The collected intelligence were exchanged over the last 10 years between the former Libyan leader and many operatives from Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt , Mali and other African countries.

 

Classified documents posted on the “ Middle East “ journal reveal that the former Libyan regime was backing Al Qaeda in Mali sparking anger of a number of countries that denounced the policy conducted by the late president.

 

He endeavored to disarm the tribes based in northern Mali and supported Al Qaeda and drug traffickers operating in this area. The Libyan intelligence services were involved in a large –scale drug smuggling with the leftist radicals of FARC through Algerian Islamic extremists affiliated with Al Qaeda.

 

One of the documents revealed that Hezbollah was conducting an all-out policy to spread Shiite movement in North African countries including Algeria with the support of the Iranian regime.

 

The former Libyan leader was also plotting a series of terrorist acts in Saudi Arabia through the recruitment of 13 thousand mercenaries affiliated with Al Qaeda in Somalia and Yemen.
