Jurists and even citizens wonder about the meaning of “public trial” for Khalifa, which is repeated by the Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh in most of his statements, as he declares at every opportunity that the trial of the golden boy Abdelmoummene Khalifa, in Blida Criminal Court, will be open to public and public opinion.

Though citizens considered this statement a good omen for the Algerian justice to prosecute corrupt, but jurists considered public trials as not new to justice, which is a principle of litigation in Algeria.
Project and through legal articles, whether old or modified confirms that all cases of misdemeanors and felonies, including issues of corruption and whatever those involved are dealt with in public, and are open to citizens and press. With the exception of ethical issues, including indecent assault, incitement to corruption and abuse of morality and that prevent citizens from attending trials except for the main parties, because of the embarrassing and shamelessly phrases that are talked in the trial, and to cover up the privacy of defendants and victims, as well as the trials of minors that are more like educational lessons that are attended by psychologists, judges and only specialists, and military trials. Otherwise, any citizen can attend a trial of the courts of misdemeanors and felonies if available, of course if their are empty places in the hall.
Jurists explain the insistence of Justice Minister to make Khalifa trial in public due to the ignorance of the majority of Algerians of laws, as many think that Louh may have intended his words to enable the visual media to transfer phases of the trial, similar to what is happening in Egypt, especially since the newly traded talk recently in the corridors of the Ministry of Justice about the possibility of opening the way for visual journalism to enter the courtroom. But the project was dropped by jurists due to the sensitivity of Khalifa issue.
