Makhzen Mouthpieces Regurgitate Zionist Propaganda Against Algeria

The Moroccan press found in the propaganda publications of some Zionist activists rich material to attack Algeria, especially after the Zionist aggression against Iran more than a week ago. Taking advantage of the strong relations between Algeria and Tehran, the Moroccan press confirmed the extent of Zionist infiltration of the Moroccan regime and its various hands.

Although any media novice can understand that these posts are propaganda in nature and have no connection to reality, the press orbiting the palace, its agencies, and its intelligence services do not hesitate to seize upon these posts and rely on them as sources in writings and articles, in an attempt to undermine Algeria for its principled and honorable positions regarding the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Two prominent Zionist activists on social media, including Meir Masri, a professor of political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a member of the Central Committee of the Labour Party, and controversial journalist Edy Cohen, who presents himself as a researcher at the Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies.

A post on the Zionist activist Meir Masri’s “X” account about Algeria was widely circulated in Moroccan newspapers, most notably the newspaper “Le 360.” The tweet, which followed the Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic, read: “Today Iran, tomorrow Algeria…”

This newspaper, owned by Mounir Majidi, the private secretary to Moroccan King Mohammed VI, and run from within the Alawite Palace, discussed Algeria’s support for just causes worldwide, including its rejection of Zionist aggression against an independent state. These values are untouchable by the Moroccan regime, clearly aligned with the content of this tweet, which is nothing but black propaganda.

The newspaper’s approach, known as a tool of the royal palace, aligns with previous positions of the Moroccan regime, which revealed its true, malicious nature, which was exposed nearly four years ago. This happened when the regime allowed then-Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid to attack Algeria from a platform shared with Rabat’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. This unprecedented incident was one of the main reasons that prompted the Algerian authorities to sever ties with the Moroccan regime, according to a statement from the Algerian Foreign Ministry at the time.

What the Moroccan King’s private secretary did was brazenly carried out by another newspaper, Hespress, that doesn’t even qualify as a newspaper, exploited a post by the controversial Zionist journalist, Edy Cohen, on his Facebook account, falsely claiming that Algerian officers in Iran had been killed in Iran by zionist attacks.

Because the posts are published by activists whose credibility is questioned, even if they bear names and titles related to universities, such as these two zionists, Cohen attempted to provide names and pictures of those he spoke about in an attempt to mislead those who follow his accounts. However, this proved unsuccessful, as the names and pictures he provided have no basis in reality. Nevertheless, the Moroccan regime’s media outlets reacted to them as if they were real, just as happened in previous practices in Syria after the fall of the regime of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. These reports were quickly exposed as false, and the party responsible for leaking them was punished.

These practices, which lack professional journalistic ethics, highlight the deteriorating political and media situation in the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as the seriousness of the Zionist infiltration of the Alawite regime. This has been exposing normalisation with the occupying entity, after decades of concealment.
