Belgian general prosecutors Wednesday said the man who was killed in an apartment raided by the Police in Brussels is Algerian. The Police said two men who are on the run are still wanted. They also announced that an ISIS flag was found in the apartment. The operation was carried out in cooperation with French police as part of investigations into the Paris attacks.

The prosecutors said the killed suspect is a 36-year-old Algerian illegal immigrant named Mohamed Belkaid. He was killed by a sniper from the police outside the apartment.

The suspect committed “simple” robberies in 2014, according to the same source.

A spokesman for the prosecutors told a press conference that two other men are still on the run. This was confirmed by local media reports. An ISIS flag and a Salafist book were found next to the body.
