Minister: all selected applicants will get AADL houses
Algerian housing minister Abdelmadjid Teboune said 300,000 selected applicants out of 760,000 for the AADL 2 housing project did not pay the first part of money. “Selected applicants should settle their situation and pay the first part of money before the end of December,” he told Echorouk in an interview.
Applicants for AADL 2 will get their houses in 2016
The minister said selected applicants will obtain their houses by the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016. “Everyone who applied for the AADL 2 housing project and was selected is eligible to get a house.”
ANSEJ beneficiaries are invited to invest in AADL areas management
Speaking about the management of AADL housing compounds, the minister called on ANSEJ project holders to sign contracts with the ministry to manage those areas.
Vacant places to build public facilities
The minister said the government seeks to construct necessary facilities in vacant places such as high schools and childcare centers.
Algeria opens door to private operators to invest in new towns
Asked about new towns in Algeria, the minister said a meeting was held, four days ago, with new town directors and the ministry’s executives to talk about investment. A call will be launched to invite investors to create hotels, health or commercial centers, cinemas in new towns.
According to Tebboune, the New Town of Sidi Abdellah countains 150,000 houses. Organizational decrees and legal procedures were settled.
“We will honor our promises”
The minister said the government will honor its promises and “will bear responsibility although it is hard.”
“People should not listen to false analyses,” he added.
AADL counterfeiter applicants to appear in court
The minister said 16,800 applicants will be called in to appear in court accused of counterfeiting residence cards.
Algeria sets projects to stop rural exodus
The minister said rural housing projects strategy is meant to reduce pressure in big cities. This would also end the problem of rural exodus and people living in villages will be offered decent houses.
