Mohamed Aissa: « The Documents Retrieved From France Will Help Restore Algeria’s Memory »
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Endowments and Acting Mujahideen Minister Mr. Mohamed Aissa said the documents Algeria recently acquired from France will help restore the country’s memory. But he said, these retrieved historical documents need to be enriched by researchers, analysts and historians so as to restablish full Algerian sovereignty.
On the sidelines of the presentation of the 650 documents recently acquired at a public auction in France, Mr Mohamed Aissa affirmed that Algeria is eagerly keen to recover its memory and its restoration must go through the collection of the vivid testimonies of the Mujahideen and the leaders of the glorious Revolution of national liberation.
He also pointed out that these retrieved documents will help Algeria restore its memory, adding that researchers and analysts have to make a deep perusal of these history-related documents and to learn from their contents.
“My attention at the Fair was directed to was written about Algeria before it was invaded by France, that is, the French military invasion was to all intents and purposes duly planned, stressing by the same token that the protection of Algeria should be carried out through knowledge, science and research,” Mr Aissa told Echorouk on the occasion.
He indicated, to this effect, that some of the retrieved documents also pertain to the frequent correspondence established between the Deys of Algeria during the era of the Ottoman Caliphate and the then French Administration.
Mr Aissa noted that the French were greatly interested in this relationship and thoroughly assessed the points of weakness and strength of the capital Algiers prior to their treacherous military invasion.
