Over 17.000 Algerian Illegal Immigrants Arrested In Europe During 2016

Numbers of Algerians illegal immigrants who were arrested in Europe recorded a rise in 2016, compared to 2015, as the official figures show that over 17272 illegal immigrants were arrested, and resolutions of expulsion and deportation were passed by the old continent authorities, against nearly 10.000 Algerian secret immigrants.

Official figures of the European border control agency “Frontex”, which appeared in the report of the outcome for monitoring borders of the old continent for the year 2016, which copy is available to Echorouk, show that there is a marked increase in the number of Algerian illegal immigrants, who were arrested in the European continent during 2016, as the number increased by 16% compared to the previous year.

In terms of figures Frontex services recorded the arrest of 17.272 Algerian illegal immigrants across the European continent, and its outlets border (land, air and sea), while in 2015 their number reached 14.498 cases of arrest, representing an increase of an estimated 2774 cases, which is 16%.

Algerian illegal immigrants rank 9th in terms of the order of 10 most nationals who are arrested in Europe, behind both Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Ukraine, Eritrea, Albania and Pakistan, and the Iraqi illegal immigrants rank tenth after Algeria.

Morocco ranks 1st in the Maghreb region, in terms of the number of arrested illegal immigrants, as their number reached 30.038, and comes fourth among the ten nationals who are mostly arrested.

What is striking in the report is that nearly 10.000 Algerians were expelled and deported from the European continent, specifically the 9494 Algerians who are concerned with these decisions, with an increase of 36% compared to 2015, where the number was in the range of 6832 decisions of expulsion.

Of the total 9494 decisions of expulsion against the Algerian illegal immigrants, only 2609 faced forced expulsion and deportation from the European soil, with an increase of 16% compared to the previous year.
