Palestinian community in Algeria demands the departure of its ambassador

More than 200 Palestinian nationals based in Algeria have called on the president Mohamed Abbas, through their representative Hassen Abu Anasr, to take immediate measures against the Palestinian ambassador and the whole diplomatic considering that he failed to carry out his mission and smeared the reputation of the Palestinian glorious revolutionary past and the diplomatic toes between the two countries alike.

Hassen Abu Anasr moved yesterday to Echouorouk premises accompanied by university students, literary men and sons of security forces agents living in Algeria for more than 20 years, forwarding a petition to the president of the Palestinian authority in which he denounces the ambassador’s gross misconducts.

The representative of the Palestinians has indicated that this situation has forced them to stage a sit in last year near the embassy’s premises and stormed it in the wake of the suspension of the council Salah Aouadh, who highly estimated by the Palestinian community in Algeria.

He has further indicated that the Palestinian ambassador to Algeria is leading a luxurious life including a villa with a swimming pool in the upscale compound of Hydra, although the Algeria authorities have put at his disposal a residency that costs $ 8000.

He has also struck a deal with a private security company to assure his protection that costs the treasury $ 3000 while several Palestinian nationals have followed training at the military academy of Cherchel.

The Palestinian delegation stressed on their demand to dismiss the ambassador and his staff  in addition to sending investigators to shed light on the irregularities and the squandered money.
