Paris informs Algeria and Tunisia about terror plans
Tunisian security forces arrested a leading member at ISIS in Ben Guerdan desert next to Libyan borders, Echorouk has learnt.
Tunisian authorities did not publish any information about the operation in official way. They are waiting for the accomplishment of investigation procedures.
According to the same sources, the arrested activist is European and named Abu Turab Al Andaloussi. He operated in Sebrata in Libya next to Tunisian borders. He was questioned by western security forces as part of cooperation between Tunisia and western security forces.
Security authorities in Tunis and Algiers received information about an abduction plan in Libya which may be carried out by ISIS. Sleeping terror cells in both countries would be used to target foreign tourists or workers in return for the release of ISIS’ prisoners in Tunisia.
Around 50 members of ISIS are jailed in Tunisia.
Echorouk has also learnt that talks between ISIS and mediators from the Czech Republic and Austria about the release of two hostages in Libya failed.
The two countries offered 500,000 euros in return for their release but ISIS wanted a larger sum.
