President Tebboune’s Vision For An Economic Emergence By 2030

The last regular meeting of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune with the national press carried his vision for the new phase and the beginnings of a societal project for Algeria, which aspires to become one of the emerging countries by 2030, Abderrahmane Hadef, an economic development advisor, said.
On Sunday, Hadef confirmed during an interview with the first channel of the Algerian Radio within the program “Guest of the Morning” that the answers of President Tebboune revealed a comprehensive vision for the implementation of this project, which is represented in the continuous work to improve the living environment of the citizen and make it at the core of the government’s interest and work to build a strong economy and enhance Algeria’s position on the international scene in a way that enables it to be effective in its regional and global environment.
“The President of the Republic renewed during this meeting his determination to move forward in implementing more reforms, especially those of a structural nature, which have been initiated on the economic and social levels, including the keenness to enhance social gains, meet the daily needs of citizens, and provide all necessary services such as transportation, health and education, including enhancing and improving purchasing power,” Hadef added.
The 1st radio guest continued; “There is a clear effort by the President of the Republic to make the Algerian citizen an effective partner in the development process by reviewing the municipal and state law, and the goal of this is to make local development a basic engine of economic and social development.”
Within this vision, Hadef spoke about the fact that the bet on entering the ranks of emerging countries within 2030 requires the development of a new economic model based on diversity, as indicated by the President of the Republic, and at the forefront of this interest to focus on the industrial sector as one of the most important tributaries of economic diversity, as he stressed during his speech after taking the constitutional oath the need to raise the national industrial sector from a percentage of about 5% to more than 10% of the total gross domestic product.
Furthermore, the economic development advisor spoke about the position of the agricultural sector within this new vision of the national economy by working to achieve significant self-sufficiency levels in some fields such as grains and meat, saying; “There are signs of large investments expected in this field in the coming years.”
Regarding the services sector, Hadef believes that the President of the Republic is moving forward with the development of digitalization, which should reach 5% of the GDP at a time when the global rate of the digital economy has reached 15% and has exceeded 40% in the Chinese economy.
In the same context, the economic adviser confirmed that, according to the vision of the President of the Republic, it is also necessary to work on developing the trade and tourism sectors in parallel with the strategic projects under implementation in the field of extractive industries such as mines, foremost among which is the giant project of “Gara Djebilat” and the phosphate extraction mine in the Boukhadra Mountain and the zinc project in Oued Amizour, in addition to the hydrocarbons sector, which is also witnessing increasing dynamism.
