Saudi Arabia Accuses Suspicious Parties Of Trying To Break Its Rapprochement With Algeria

Saudi embassy in Algeria denied that its ambassador, Sami Abdullah, has had an interview with the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh in which he described the Polisario Front as a terrorist organization and called on Algeria to stop supporting it.

Saudi Embassy in Algiers said, in a statement, on Sunday, which copy is available to Echorouk: “We note that the Saudi ambassador, Sami Bin Abdullah Saleh had not done an interview with Al-Riyadh newspaper, and the statements that were attributed to him is a fabrication which were carried out by suspicious parties that were much discontented by the diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia to tighten the bilateral relationships with Algeria, which resulted in great convergence between the two countries on the recent political and economic levels”.

According to several sources, the party that fabricated interview used the Photoshop technique, by exploiting an exact copy of El Riyadh newspaper, and published fictional statements of the Saudi diplomat on last February,14, saying: “We hope that the Algerian government and all the external parties will adopt neutrality and non-interference in this file, which concerns Morocco’s sovereignty over its territory”.

Previously, the Algerian-Saudi relationships noticed a major breakthrough that was reflected in the successive visits of the two countries’ officials.
