Saudia Arabia “bartered” Algeria, diplomatic positions in exchange for oil
Oil crisis overshadowed on the talks which brought together Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister, Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, with Algerian officials during the visit, which led him to Algeria last weekend, and covered on the diplomatic files that were brought by the Saudi Minister, blaming Algeria on the positions that fall within its faith.

Sources which attended a part of the meetings that brought together the Saudi Foreign Minister with Algerian officials revealed that the oil file and the crisis of prices in the international market and the transformations of the market which will notice the entry of new producers like the United States of America and the return of Iran, which was present in all the meetings that came in the context of the third session of the Committee of political consultation between the two countries.
Echorouk sources said that Saudi Arabia tried to play this paper to negotiate Algeria in a number of diplomatic files and bring it on its side in a number of issues, because the Kingdom thinks that Algeria “betrayed it” when it refused to support its orientations and stood in the adverse of its positions and initiatives.

“The visit was an “extraordinary mission” given the files that Jubeir discussed in the tone that carried a kind of admonition, about several positions that were led by the position of Algeria which refused to join the initiative of the “Islamic Arab Alliance” that was led by Saudi Arabia, and Jubeir’s task seemed an attempt to swap the diplomatic files with an economic file.”
