Syrian opponent to Echourouk: The Syrian council is doomed to die after paying allegiance to Qatar

One of the fiercest opponents of the Syrian regime since four decades and an influential figure in the recent opposition against Bechar Al Assad , Wail Al Hafedh has announced his withdrawal after the meeting held in the Qatari capital Doha because of several irregularities on which he shed light in an interview made to Echourouk.

• The opponent has indicated that the vote was not legal and we utterly regret the election of George Sabra at the helm of the Council while he didn’t do anything when he was a member of the bureau.
• What is currently happening inside the National Council is real tragedy that undermined the Syrian revolution. More than a year after, they met in Doha to agree upon an ethnic composition controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood. My question is: does the Syrian revolution in need of this ethnicity? He said.
• Wail Al Hafedh went on saying that the hegemony of the Muslim Brotherhood goes back far in time, but they were always hiding behind moderate groups. But the meeting of Doha shed light on their real drives of this group even though they avoid appointing one of them as chairman.
• We have withdrawn because we noticed several irregularities on top of them the failure of this council to get an Arab and Western acknowledgement. I and a number of my colleagues decided to withdraw because we refuse to endorse Doha’s schemes, he added.
• As to the situation in Syria, Wail Al Hafedh has indicated that the Bechar’ Al Assad’s days are counted and he will be soon overthrown and referred to justice. The western countries extend the conflict to ruin the Syria economically and militarily.
