Terrorism targets tourism in Tunisia

Death toll of Wednesday’s terrorist attack raised to 22 killed persons and 50 wounded. Tunisia’s head of government Habib Said had said the attack killed 19 persons including tourists from Poland, Italy, Germany and Spain. The attacker and a Tunisian security guard were among the victims.

Tunisia experienced on Wednesday an extraordinary day following an unprecedented terrorist attack on the tourism sector.

The attack was carried out at a museum and Parliament’s headquarter in the capital.

The head of government told journalists, the attackers were wearing military clothes and opened fire on two groups of tourists.

He added that the attackers were killed after two hours and a half and they were not identified yet.

He called on Tunisian people to take part in the “war on terror,” saying it is a “long war.”
