The first training camp of the Greens of Algeria, under the supervision of the new national head coach Lucas Alcáráz, will take place on the 2nd of next June at Sidi Moussa’s national sports center (western Algiers) in preparation for the friendly match against Guinea Conakry and the official CAN first-leg qualifier against Togo.

The first warm-up match will be held on the 6th of next June, and the CAN qualifier versus Togo is due  five days later, both at 22 H 00 local time and at the same venue that is the “Mustapha Tchaker” stadium of Blida (50 km west of Algiers).

Lucas Alcáráz hoped to schedule this training camp by the end of May, to know more about the technical abilities, as well as the physical and psychological condition of the players, who are gearing up for a strong confrontation versus Togo as part of the opening of the 2019 African Cup of Nations’ qualifiers.

It is clear that the majority of the called-up players preferred to return to visit their parents who live in France for a rest, after the end of the football season in Europe, especially as these Algerian professional players form the backbone of the “Desert warriors” squad.

That’s why the Spanish head coach Alcaraz failed to program the Greens’ preparatory training camp as he wished.
