These are the IMF’s expectations for the Algerian economy during 2024-2025

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a new and detailed report on the Algerian economy, which included a set of expectations related to the gross domestic product and the economic growth rate, in addition to the value of oil and non-oil exports, during the years 2024 and 2025.
According to the report, a copy of which was obtained by “Echorouk Online”, the Fund expects Algeria to end the current year 2024, recording an increase in the gross domestic product, to the level of 260.1 billion US dollars, i.e. an annual increase of 3.8 percent, and 264.3 billion dollars during the year 2025, an increase of 03 percent, revealing at the same time a slight contribution of non-oil products to the gross domestic product, estimated at 04 percent in 2024 and 3.2 percent in 2025.
Regarding oil and gas production during During the same period, the Fund expected Algeria to conclude its hydrocarbon production during the years 2024 and 2025, at a level of 1.1 million barrels per day, while maintaining its exports at 0.4 million barrels per day, during the same period.
The report issued last October revealed a decrease in consumer price inflation to 5.3 percent in 2024, after it was 9.3 percent in 2022 and 2023, i.e. a decrease of 04 percent. Regarding basic consumer prices, the report expected inflation to reach 6.9 percent and 8.8 percent in 2024 and 2025, respectively, after it was at 13.5 percent in 2023 and -0.9 percent in 2022.
The same source touched on the level of Algerian exports and imports of goods and services in 2024 and 2025, where exports are expected to reach $61.1 billion and $60.3 billion, respectively, while imports are expected to reach $56.7 billion and $61.4 billion during the same period, respectively.
