Tom Harb to Echorouk: Trump is very interested in relations with Algeria and North African countries

How could your candidate win the elections while all the expectations and polls said Clinton would be elected?

Polls and analyses were fake and politicized in favour of Clinton. A total of 94 percent of journalists in America supported Clinton in her electoral campaign. Yet, journalism ethics requires transparency and independency. Imagine that they supported Clinton’s campaign. That means that all their articles were against Trump.

Polls were based on wrong mechanisms. In the US, 29 percent of people are democrats, 28 percent are Republicans and 42 percent are independent. In polls, wrong collection enters were used. The result was wrong of course. Furthermore, media wanted to cover Clinton’s corruption. You can do whatever you want with Americans but don’t lie on them. Clinton cheated on Americans.

There was a big excitement for Trump. We saw that in festivals. Not less than 20,000 people attended his campaigns While Clinton had around 3,000 people. She had to bring a music troop to attract audience. As a conclusion, the American people made a difference between a person who wanted to build a national strong State and a woman who wanted to cheat and lie on society.

There are fears over the fact that Trump is a businessman and has nothing to do with politics. How will he deal with heavy issues inside and outside the US?

In fact, he is a businessman who is used to deal with people contrarily to Obama. Trump knows how to select the members of the directors’ board. The State is like a board of directors but it is owned by people. Trump knows how to choose directors.

Is it possible that the foreign policy would change towards the Palestinian cause and the Syrian crisis as well as tension with Saudi Arabia?

Trump wants to build a relation with friend Arab countries. Today, we do not understand why does Obama give up on Arab nations and sign a nuclear deal with Iran. Actually, we do not understand Obama’s policy anymore. 

Trump will establish relations with Arab countries. In Egypt, he will support Al-Sissi and not the Muslim Brotherhood. He will rebuild a strong relation with Saudi Arabia. Arab armies will be formed again to intervene in Syria and Iraq to liberate them from ISIS. He will also work on building bridges with the Arab world to end terrorism in the Arab region and the world.

As for the Palestinian problem, it is not a priority. Trump said the problem is complicated and he will gather all the concerned parties. We will do our best to help them. We are ready to contribute in solving the Palestinian cause. Yet, we do not oblige anyone to accept our mediation.

Will the US and Algeria continue cooperating in countering terrorism and oil market only?

Trump will work on establishing good relations. He worked in commercial field. Commerce should be reinforced in the world provided that it is suitable and balanced to everyone. If we wanted to bring a product from Algeria, we have to sell the same amount to it.

Relations with Arab nations, Algeria and North Africa are very important to him. He looks forward to consolidate them but he will not oblige anyone to establish relations with him.
