Tunisia: Terrorist Attack From Algeria was Repelled by Border Guards

Tunisian official news agency quoted the person in charge of information and communication at the Tunisian border guards, Brigadier Khalifa al-Shaibani, as saying that one of the terrorist groups sneaked out at 7:20 pm on Sunday from the Algerian territory, and exactly from the area which is adjacent to the Office of Oum Arayes, in order to attack the border post of the National Guards in Djenane al-Kharouf, which is far from the Tunisian Algerian reduce at approximately 300 meters.

“Terrorist group tried to surprise a security patrol which belongs to the Border Guard Centre, during its return to the headquarters with heavy gunshot, but the vigilance of border guards who responded quickly forced the unidentified terrorist group’s number to flee towards the Algerian territory. Combing operations are ongoing in the region to hunt down the group. Exchange of gunshots with the terrorist group has continued for more than 20 minutes, without recording any injuries or damage in the ranks of the National Guards or at the Centre, which was strengthened with border vanguard units for borders and counter-terrorism and armed troops as well.”
