Tunisia’s defense minister, Ferhat Horshani, has stressed the importance of an increased cooperation with neighbouring Algeria in the sustained struggle against the terrorism scourge.

Mr Horshani who was speaking outside a broad-based meeting of the Tunisian National defense institute, underlined that the trans-border nature of terrorism requires a comprehensive cooperation with all regional and world countries including the USA.

The Tunisian defense minister also brought out the imperious necessity to set up a potent security system that takes into account the telling experience of countries which have efficiently fought the plague of terrorism.

To this effect, Mr Horshani indicated that there is a close coordination in the security field between Algeria and Tunisian as part of combined efforts to stamp out this nefarious scourge notably the “Daesh” evil forces and their affiliates in the whole region.

It should be noted that the Tunisian Minister of Defense had previously been attributed “strange” remarks when considering that terrorism suffered by his country was stemming from the Algerian and Libyan borders, but this most awkward comment was quickly denied, via a statement from  the Ministry of Defence of Tunisia, arguing that Mr Horshani’s declaration was wrongly interpreted by the press  while highlighting by the same token the solid secular bonds of cooperation and friendship uniting the two brotherly countries.
