Unions submit 140 requests to education minister
Ahead of the beginning of the school year, nine unions submitted 140 requests to the Algerian education minister Nouria Benghebrit and warned to protest.
Mohamed Idar, an advisor at the education ministry in charge of relations with social partners said three meetings were held with the unions.
“The ministry satisfied requests related to its prerogatives while the other ones were transferred to other authorities,” he said.
Most of the requests are related to bonus and pay raise.
The unions gave a deadline to the ministry until the fourth meeting as Benghebrit is expected to meet them before the end of September.
