URAP 2020/2021: Top 10 Of Algeria’s Best Universities
Algiers’ Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology in Bab Ezzouar ranked first in Algeria, according to the University Ranking of Academic Performance (URAP), but it ranked 1309 in the world.
The University Rankings by Academic Performance (URAP) for the 2020/2021 season included the top 3000 universities around the world in this field.

The ranking of universities is based on six main criteria, which represent the volume and quality of research and scientific production of universities, namely: modern research production (Article) with an effect of 21% of the total ranking points, and the total research production (Total Document) with an effect of 10%, and the citation with an effect of 21%.

There is an indicator to evaluate the research quality (Article Impact Total) with an effect of 18%, an index to measure the citation impact total with an effect of 15%, and international cooperation in research and joint research projects (International Collaboration) with an effect of 15%.
The 19 Algerian universities entered the ranking are; the University of Houari Boumediene for Science and Technology  (Algiers’ Bab Ezzouar) ranked first in Algeria and 1309 in the world, followed by the University of Djillali Liabès in Sidi Bel Abbès (western Algeria ranked 2nd) and ranked 1441 globally, then Ferhat Abbas University in Setif (eastern Algeria ranked 3rd) ranked 1462 globally.
The University of Badji Mokhtar in Annaba (eastern Algeria ranked 4th), and ranked 1849 globally, the University of Bejaia (eastern Algiers ranked 5th), and 1852 globally, then the University of Mascara (western Algeria, ranked 6th), and 2196 globally, the University of Abou Bekr Belkaid in Tlemcen (western Algeria, ranked 7th), and 2296 globally, the University of Mentouri Brothers in Constantine (eastern Algeria, ranked 8th), and 2322 globally, the University of M’hamed Boughera in Boumerdes (eastern Algiers, ranked 9th), and 2372 globally and Oran Mohamed Boudiaf University of Science and Technology (western Algeria, ranked 10th), and 2462 globally.
Last September, a Spanish university ranking, called webometrics, published its last ranking of universities on September and the University of M’sila (eastern Algiers) ranked 4th in Algeria and 2173 globally.
