1000 refrigerators smuggling foiled in Algiers.

Customs in the port of Algiers seized last weekend 20 containers loaded of Chinese coolers coming from France. The owner of these containers tempted to smuggle 1000 refrigerators helped by his transit agent, said the costoms investigators.

• The costoms agents foiled the attempt when inspecting the 20 containers. They discovered extra quantities of equipments. Some 1000 refrigerators were illegally imported by the operator. 12 out of 20 containers were not authorised to the port of Algeirs.
• Investigations also showed that the operator was using a fake identity. Only the transit agent has been identified. He will be fined 80 million DZ in accordance with the law.
