“Algeria will witness social mutations in terms of gender. Figures show a real fast change in favour of women,” the National Economic and Social Council (CNES) said.
-
“More than 60 percent of teachers are women, more than 60 percent of employees in the health sector are women and more than 35 percent of judges are women.”
-
The report points out the significant integration of women in the economic responsibility. “The number of women building contractors reached 100,000 in 2008.”
-
Chief of the CNES Mohamed Seghir Babes said the report is a comprehensive study of deep mutations in the Algerian society.
-
“The comprehensive presentation of the national report of the human development will be made in June directly after a UN expert approves all the involved protocols,” he added.
-
According to Babes, the report was prepared in collaboration with all the sectors involved in the implementation of policies and programs intended to human development. Some categories of the civil society and figures institutions also participated in the preparation.
-
“The report includes a new important element by using the results of the national population census in 1998-2008. That allowed assessing for the first time in Algeria the transformations in the human development field during 10 years.”
