12 executives at University of Algiers 2 resign

A number of executives at the University of Algiers 2 resigned as its new president dismissed the dean of arts faculty causing a mess inside the university.

The collective resignation was submitted by vice-dean in charge of pedagogy, vice-dean in charge of scientific research, president of scientific council, chiefs of Arabic, French, English and other foreign languages departments and vice-chiefs of department.

This unprecedented step comes as the dean transmitted messages to condemn a counterfeiting case.

She accused a department chief of counterfeiting and blocked the salary of teachers who did not work. Yet, the university’s president dismissed her instead of opening an investigation.
