14 people injured in gas pipeline blast in western Algeria.

Fourteen people were injured when a gas pipeline exploded in the locality of Zemoura, 28 km from the city of Relizane in western Algeria on Monday, according to oil officials.

• No further details were available nor whether the blast disrupted gas production and export operations.   The blast caused a wave of shock and panic among the residents living in the vicinity of the gas installation which links Arzew to the Saharan gas fields.
