170,000 applications for AADL housing program rejected

A number of people applied for the AADL housing program more than 22 times while others submitted their applications in 16 provinces.

The total number of applicants reached 900,005. Of them, 160,920 were excluded, according to the Algerian housing ministry.

Figures show that 73,726 applicants were not eligible for many reasons including multiplied number of applications in more than a province while investigations showed that 12,733 applicants possess houses.

A total of 22,097 applications were rejected because of fake identity cards and birth certificates and 1,285 as applicants are more than 70 years old.

Some 819 applicants had renewed their previous applications for the AADL program 2001/2002 and started paying for their houses. A total of 25,642 couples applied individually.

Investigations also showed that 92,594 applicants were not eligible. Of them, 17,806 had benefited from the State’s housing aid and 17,302 submitted fake identity card or birth certificate. A total of 35,680 people multiplied their applications.    

The ministry will check applications conformity with the list of documents which are supposed to be submitted to the AADL agency.
