20% of the Algerians think it is impossible to live with an income less than 40 thousand dianrs

The study by the Unit of the Economic Studies, belonging to Media Sense institution, for Echorouk, concluded that there a direct correlation between the high graduation and improvement of the levels of incomes in Algeria.  

  • The study, issued last mid-June, shows that 63.4% of the Algerians who receive incomes ranging between 60.000 and 80.000 dinars, the equivalent of to $833 to $1111, are high graduates, compared to 24.7% who did not join the secondary level, and 8.6% of the average level, and 3.23% of those who have never been to school.
  • The study, which included the main Algerian cities, including Algiers, the capital, Setif and Annaba, east of Algeria, Tizi Ouzou, east of Algiers, and Oran, west of Algeria, shows that these kinds of incomes allow this class of people to have full national grid for electricity, water, gas and sewage system, as well as availability of the necessary of household equipments that could be considered as luxuries such as microwaves, air-conditioners, dish-washing machines.
  • The study draws attention to 93.5% of Algerian families who receive incomes between 60.000 and 80.000 dinars and have computers at homes, and 100% having a digital receiver, and half of them have more than one TV. 40% of this class have one car at home, compared to 40% having two cars, and 1/4 % owning over three cars.
  • High incomes reduce the volume of banking loans

  • The final stage of the study, published in Echorouk, shows that the rate of the Algerian families interested by modern technologies, and means of information and communication, is linked to two main factors, namely the level of training and income, the higher the level of cultural and scientific development, the better is the income, whenever these circumstances and factors, the larger the number of homes where technical and technological equipments are available.
  • “Media Sense” study also shows that the improvement in the incomes, led to a decrease in the banking loans requests, meaning that the capacity of the families expenditure passed through the improvement in their real incomes and not by resorting to borrowing from the banks, because it would, in fact, the pressures on the families, thing which is confirmed by the decline in the number of families which resorted to banking loans from 25% for the incomes ranging between 50.000 and 60.000 to only 20% , a decline of 5 points.
  • The Algerians invest in buying houses

  • It is very important to note that the rate of 45% of the loans made by these families were directed to the purchasing of real estates, and a similar percentage to buy cars, compared to 10% for financing business.
