20 years prison in absentia for suicide bomber behind assassination attempt against Algerian President Bouteflika
A suicide bomber blew himself up shortly before the arrival of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in Batna in September 2007.
A criminal court in Oran province (West of Algeria) Tuesday condemned the suicide bomber who attempted to assassinate Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in Batna province ( east of Algeria ).

“Ballazrak Elhouari” alias “ Abou Elmoukdad Elwahrani” was sentenced to 20 years prison in absentia because there was no death certificate. He is condemned on charges of joining armed terrorist group, in addition to other suspects on the run who were convicted on the same charges. Two other arrested ones were declared guilty in the same trial.
