2008/2009 Academic year: Over 8 million pupils join on Saturday their school benches in Algeria

More than 8 million pupils are to join on Saturday September 13th their school benches across Algeria against a backdrop of sweeping structural reforms initiated by the National Education Ministry with much success.

•  According to Education Minister Aboubakr Benbouzid everything has been done to ensure a smooth running of the new academic year 2008 – 2009.
• The relevant authorities have made available all the necessary pedagogical equipment including books and props as well as new educational facilities in various regions of the country to crown this new school year with full success.
• The number of intermediate level pupils, for instance, which totalled last year 1 million 500.000 reached this year over 3 million which is evidence of the great efforts made this year to allocate new pedagogical seats for Algerian school-children.
