2012 Africa Cup: Guedioura, Kadir, Matmour and Doukha selected to play against Morocco

Algeria’s football coach Abdelhak Benchikha fixed a list of 29 players to attend training ahead of the match against Morocco in the fourth round of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier series, Echorouk has learnt.

• Benchikha held a meeting on Wednesday with his assistants at the head-office of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF). He showed Abdenour Kaoua and Mohamed Choib the way he will use in the training in Spain.

• According to the same sources, the coach kept the same list of players who were called in to play against Morocco in Algeria. He added many names. Most of them are professional like Adlane Guedioura, Fouad Kadir and Karim Matmour.

• The list does not mean that the players will be officially called in for the training. Benchikha will compare them to other players before announcing the official list of 23 players.

• The staff is expected to fly to Spain on May 20^th. A group of professional players including Rafik Djebbour, Djamel Abdoune, Nadir Belhadj, Madjid Bougherra and Abdelmalek Ziaya will join it on the same day.

• Four goalkeepers in the list

• The source said the national coach put the name of USMH’s goalkeeper in the list. He will be with Rais Mboulhi, Lamine Zamamouche and Fouzi Chaouchi.

• Local players to join on May 22^nd

• The Algerian local players will join the team in Spain on May 22^nd as Benchikha allowed them to play for their clubs in the national championship.

• The list of local players is supposed to include ES Sétif’s Khaled Lemouchia, Hadj Aissa, Hocine Metref, Abdelmoumene Djabou, goalkeeper Fouzi Chaouchi or USMH’s Doukha. It will also include JSMB’s defender Meftah, MCA’s Zamamouche and Chlef’s Soudani.

• The national team’s technical staff is expected to go to Morocco from Spain on June 2^nd.
